Privacy Policy

KNJ Network ("we", "us") is the data controller for the information described below. This page explains what we collect through knj.network and KNJ Panel, why, the legal basis we rely on, and your rights over it. For any question or request, email info@knj.network.

What we collect, and why

Billing account

If you register a billing account, we store your name, email address, and a hashed password. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.

Mailing list

If you sign up for release updates, we store your email address on our own self-hosted mailing list — not a third-party marketing platform. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and we stop emailing you as soon as you use it. Legal basis: your consent, given when you sign up.

Orders and payment

Checkout is handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor and merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your payment card details directly — we never see or store your card number. Lemon Squeezy shares your name, email, and order/subscription status back with us so we can activate your license. Lemon Squeezy's own privacy policy covers how they handle payment data, including any processing outside the UK/EEA. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.

License activation

When KNJ Panel is installed and activated on your own server, it checks in with our licence server, which records that server's public IP address. This binds the license to a single server and prevents one license key running on multiple servers without our knowledge — it is not used for any other purpose. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing license abuse, and performance of our contract with you.

Cookies

This site sets two strictly-necessary cookies: a session cookie, which keeps you signed in to your billing account, and a CSRF-protection cookie, which protects forms on this site from cross-site attacks. Neither is used for advertising or analytics, we don't run any third-party tracking or analytics on this site, and strictly-necessary cookies like these don't require your consent under UK PECR. Legal basis: strictly necessary to provide the site.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent your personal data to anyone. We don't run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site. We don't use your data for any automated decision-making or profiling. We don't knowingly collect data from children, and this site isn't directed at them. We don't share your data with anyone beyond what's described above.

How long we keep it

Billing account and order data is kept for as long as your account or license is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards for accounting and legal purposes. Mailing list addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. License activation records are kept for as long as the license itself is valid.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you
  • have inaccurate data corrected
  • have your data deleted (subject to what we're legally required to keep, e.g. for tax records)
  • export your data in a portable format
  • object to or ask us to restrict certain processing
  • withdraw consent at any time for anything based on consent, like the mailing list

To exercise any of these, email info@knj.network. We'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
